Wrapping Up a Chapter at Infinitas Learning

After several years at Infinitas Learning, I’ve wrapped up my chapter there. Good moment to look back at what that meant, where design is heading, and what I’m after next.

From Consultancy to Building Something Real

What started as a consultancy assignment turned into something richer. Over time, the work evolved into growing design maturity across the organization, building a design system that could speak to multiple audiences, and leading the team that brought it to life. That kind of trajectory, where a temporary engagement deepens into something meaningful, is rare. It happened because the problem was interesting, and the people made it worth doing.

The system we built needed to support the products we had today while staying open to tomorrow’s possibilities. That meant building for AI-driven initiatives not as an afterthought, not as a layer on top, but as part of the foundation itself. Cumulative value… each choice creating a base for the next, each evolution strengthening the whole.

UX Is Entering a New Era

Working through this shift gave me a clearer view of how UX is evolving. And honestly? It’s fascinating. Because of AI, we’re moving into a world where many more people will create their own solutions, build their own agents, design their own experiences. That’s the democratization of UX and product design happening in real time. It changes what “doing UX” even means.

UX was never just about screens (that’s always been a narrow reading of the discipline). But in an AI-native world, the role becomes clearer and, in some ways, more important. It’s about defining the principles that guide what gets created. Shaping how systems behave for people, making the hard choices about trade-offs, ensuring coherence across complexity, and keeping experiences human, useful, and responsible at scale… even when much of the orchestration happens with or through AI.

Sometimes the AI integration is the product. And that changes the conversation entirely.

The Direction I Want to Explore

This is where I want to keep heading: helping organizations build from strong UX foundations and grow toward mature, system-level thinking. In practice, that means lifting a team’s design and product maturity to a place where they can tackle complex challenges quickly, with confidence and flexibility. Not without friction (friction is honest, and it keeps you sharp), but with a golden path that shows up in how fast the team adapts, ships, and delivers value in both directions: internally in speed and confidence, externally in customer satisfaction and growth.

Building that path today isn’t theoretical. It means integrating AI as a natural part of how teams orchestrate their work. Not a bolt-on. Not an experiment. Woven into the foundation of how design and product operate. That’s what makes the golden path sustainable, not just achievable.

I’m looking for my next challenge: a strategic role where I can build this out within teams, processes, and the organization itself. But also rolling up my sleeves to stay sharp… because losing touch with the work is how you lose perspective.
